How to get here
Pick up:
We can collect you from La Ceiba (airport, bus station, ferry terminal etc) and drop you back so please ask (with as much notice as possible).
Bus: L.24/$1.30 each way
If you are up for a bumpy ride the bus is the cheap option but unadvisable if you have much luggage. It is best to catch the bus at the terminal or get a taxi to ‘el desvio a Yaruca’ (the Yaruca turning) but don’t try it after 1pm as you may miss the last one. Ask for ‘La Canasta en El Pital’.
Taxi: L.600+ /$25+ each way
Only get in a taxi painted white and purple with a number on the side. Agree the price before you get in and be prepared for some drivers to say no, they don’t like the bumpy road.
Private Car:
Once in La Ceiba follow the signs for Trujillo until you see the sign to Yaruca on the right hand side, just after the Saopin bridge. Drive for approximately 15km/9 miles until about 1 ½ km past Las Mangas and look out for us on the left across the river.
Getting to La Ceiba
Air:
The airport is about 45 minutes drive from us and 15 minutes from the centre of La Ceiba. Flights in and out from the Bay Islands and San Pedro Sula.
Land:
Buses come direct to La Ceiba from all the main towns. La Ceiba is 3 hours from San Pedro Sula, around 6 from Tegucigalpa and 8 from Copan.
If you are travelling by bus we recommend Hedman Alas which is the safest and most comfortable. Christina and Viana are also better than the yellow buses.
